Haapu South Pacific Resort by fstarno Haapu South Pacific Resort by fstarno
Haapu South Pacific Resort is a quick matte painting concept I did during an evening just for fun, using photos of simple objects from my kitchen like spoons. Can you recognize them in the image?

There is a tutorial here: [link]

Ooh, this is a pretty serene scene. It looks so real like a photo. I love the colors and detail especially with the clouds and the sunlight against them. Kitchen table spoons work. Have you considered going into architecture? Great job.

Maybe it's just the fact that it's midnight, but I stared at this for a good thirty seconds before going, "WHOA! Space-age buildings!" You blended them in so naturally that I was in the middle of the usual process of trying to sort if I was looking at a photo or a digital drawing before I even noticed the architecture.

Well, I think I see a ladle...and all those wires reminds me of a whisk. I imagine there's a pan somewhere...The possibilities are...well, not quite limitless, but I dare to say pretty close.

If there's anything I gotta say, it's that you got the focus just right. It's like I'm actually there, looking at a real harbor!

Excellent stuff. Traditional and futuristic at the same time. Who'd have thought simple kitchen objects could have yielded such results.

I stood here for at least 20 seconds thinking, 'Now, wait.... is this real?' Extremely well done. The guy on the bike, his state of movement clinched it for me. Good rl detail. : )

The feel you've created with this work is very reminiscent of the area around the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver Canada. Well done. It's not an easy atmosphere to capture.
